HOT STOVE TOPIC

Is it our responsibility as coaches to try and build the winningest team possible OR Should our main focus be developing the individual skills of our players? Can it be both. If so where is the balance found?

  1. Player skills development assists in player creativity and learning more about their capabilities long term. Do we really want to pigeon hole our kids into a "winning system" at an early age ? If you learn skills those skills will be improved on, and are transferable to any team with any coach.
